Join the VRC, Zsofi Valyi-Nagy, and Yifan Zou for a hybrid workshop on preparing for fieldwork and creating and managing your research photos. This is the first iteration of what will be an annual workshop open to anyone planning and preparing for art history field research.This workshop will offer:
- Case study presentations by Zsofi Valyi-Nagy and Yifan Zou on the strategies, platforms, and workflows they use to manage their personal image archives
- An introduction to ethical image considerations
- Advice on making and editing photos in the field
- Ways to approach cataloging & archiving workflows to set yourself up well to use the images during your future writing, standalone teaching, and research
This workshop isn’t prescriptive! We will present different options to encourage strategies that will work best for you. This workshop can be attended before or after fieldwork, or multiple times over the years as needed.
